
With more than 30 years of information technology industry expertise Ms. MacLean founded a private risk management consulting company MacLean Risk Partners, LLC. Ms. MacLean currently serves on the Board of Directors of PGP Corporation, a leading technology company dedicated to providing innovative data protection and data loss solutions. Prior to establishing MacLean Risk Partners, she was the Global Chief Information Security Officer for the Barclays, PLC, Global Retail and Commercial Bank. At Barclays, PLC she was responsible for the company's global security technology and risk management services and initiatives.
Prior to Barclays, PLC Ms. MacLean was the global leader of Bank of America's Corporate Information Protection Group for over a decade. In that role she was responsible for the company's security policies and procedures, information risk management, security technology implementations, cyber investigations and general information security awareness for the company's leadership, associate base, and outside suppliers. Prior to joining Bank of America she served fifteen years in various information technology leadership roles for The Boeing Aerospace Company based in Seattle, Washington.
In 2002, Ms. MacLean was appointed by the U.S. Secretary of the Treasury to serve as the sector coordinator and chairperson of the Financial Services Sector Coordinating Council for Critical Infrastructure Protection and Homeland Security. www.fsscc.org In that role, she brought together 26 financial services trade associations, utilities and professional institutes and worked with Treasury's private sector liaison to create several important industry initiatives. In 2004, Ms. MacLean was presented with The Secretary's Certificate of Appreciation for establishing a "model for public-private initiatives" in conjunction with her leadership. MacLean is chairperson emeritus of the Council. In conjunction with the FSSCC and the Federal Reserve Bank, she was appointed co-chair of the International Critical Infrastructure Working Group in 2007. The international working group focuses on infrastructure interdependencies and risk mitigation strategies (e.g., undersea cables, supply chain, etc.).
Ms. MacLean served as an Adjunct Distinguished Senior Fellow with Carnegie Mellon University's CyLab, helping CyLab to continue to pursue an aggressive research and development agenda that integrates technology, policy and management by bringing together security professionals, researchers and policymakers. CyLab fosters the transition of research and technologies to industry in today's era of the global supply chain.
In September 2003, The Executive Women's Forum named MacLean one of five "Women of Vision," as one of the top business leaders shaping the information security industry. MacLean was also named one of the 50 most powerful people in the network industry in NetworkWorld's 2003 and 2004 issues. In recognition of her continued leadership in the security field, she was awarded CSO's Compass Award in 2005. In April 2005, The Friends of a Child's Place, a Charlotte-based advocacy for the homeless, named her one of the "First Ladies of Charlotte" in recognition of her support for the Charlotte community. In 2008 Banker's Technology recognized Barclays Software Code Assurance Program as the industry's Information Security Project of the Year. Also in 2008, Symantec and CIO Digest presented Ms. MacLean the EMEA Visionary Award for her continuing leading edge industry contributions in the area of information security and resiliency. A Life Time Achievement Award was presented by the Executive Women's Forum in September 2009 to recognize the many years of visionary leadership in the areas of risk management across business, academia and public policy.
