In this blogpost, we hear from Member Relations Manager Laura Waller for efficient ways to take advantage of a Shared Assessments membership.
In the course of touching base with Shared Assessments members, a common theme appears: There Just Is Not Enough Time.
Not enough time to do the things you ought to do, want to do, let alone need to do – and that goes for everything – work, family and the general pursuit of daily happiness. While we never hear, “Shared Assessments offers too many resources and learning opportunities,” we do hear it is tough to find the time to take advantage of all that Shared Assessments does offer.
Here are a few suggestions that I hope will help lighten your load and offer benefits and efficiencies for you and your Third Party Risk Management team. Happier TPRM days are just ahead.
Join a committee or group such as Best Practices for TPRM or Regulatory Compliance and hear what others are experiencing, learn and find solutions for something you may just need to know, and share your own expertise.
The community and experience of TPRM members ranges greatly and we’re all here for each other. Networking with your peers can be fun and there is always our SMEs’ wit that will make you smile. Can’t commit to attending every meeting? That’s no problem. We aren’t grading you and no one is going to send a letter to your parents – or your boss. Attend when you can or get one or more of your team involved and share what you learn.
Get a third party risk certification with the Certified Third Party Risk Professional (CTPRP) credential. The CTPRP will validate your TPRM expertise, provide professional credibility and probably teach you a few additional tricks. 80% of polled CTPRP holders reported that the training improved their ability to do their job. Can’t attend a two-day instructor-led class? Try our newly launched On-Demand class that you can take at your own pace, study when you want for up to 15 weeks before taking the exam.
Asked and answered…by popular demand, this fall we will be launching a way for you to upload CPEs you’ve gained through educational opportunities outside of Shared Assessments into your record on our education portal.
Finally, stay tuned and in-the-know about all of the above and other Shared Assessments offerings through our newsletter.
